Using technology to modernise learning spaces

Spatial Ops was commissioned by Education Queensland to document and design the refurbishment of three Far North Queensland schools: Atherton State High School, Trinity Bay State High School and Walkamin State School. Our focus was existing manual arts blocks and classrooms that required significant upgrade. Laser scanning was instrumental as the location and clearances around heavy equipment was critical for functionality and safety.

Laser scanning delivers rapid results

After only three to four days of laser scanning, we had sufficient data to create architectural plans for all three schools, which we could work on back in our Brisbane studio. Without the Spatial Ops scanning technology, we would have had to visit each site several times ⎯ a costly, complex and time-consuming exercise.
