Combustible Cladding Removal

Public health and safety

Following the tragic fire at the Grenfell Tower in London in 2017 and the fire at the Lacrosse Building in Melbourne in 2014, new laws exist for buildings with combustible cladding across jurisdictions. Spatial Ops was deployed to Thursday Island to provide laser scanning of the facade of the Gab Titui Cultural Centre. The external cladding of the centre posed a fire safety risk, requiring the safe removal of the combustible material and for the building to be completely reclad.
